Sherlog Security Pipelines II
Sherlog Security Pipelines II
is a new, modernized system of detection and locating of media leakage from the long-distance pipelines. Its principal benefit is a surprising, very high accuracy, detecting even the relatively slight leakage of the media transported both in pumping and stillstand modes; the user can find out the hole just originated, depending on type of the medium transported, operating pressure and possible disturbing effects, for a diameter of approximately 1/100 of the pipeline clear diameter.
The Sherlog Security Pipelines II (hereinafter „the SSP II“) is created based on a long-term experience and extensive findings concerning operation of pipeline transportation systems and operating-diagnostic measurement. It satisfies the demanding requirements posed on the current telemetric, security, diagnostic and control systems from the reliability and security viewpoints.
The SSP II exploits the new hardware technologies and software methods.
The Sherlog Security Pipelines system was developed in 90‘s of the last century and applied for the first time for the needs of protection of the ČEPRO, a.s. company‘s long-distance pipelines, which became a target of attacks by organized gangs, which performed drilling at various points of the route and drawn-off the fuel illegally. The environmental damages caused by pirate drew-offs and by the subsequent leakage of crude oil matters into environment exceeded many times the damages caused by thefts. The system enabled an immediate warning of the attendants even in case of a medium leakage from the piping caused by technological faults. Thus the system had influenced in a principal way the cost cuts at remedying of environmental damages caused by contamination of soil and ground water by hydrocarbons.
